how do you get rid of bad breath if you still have it after you brush your teeth?
i have a retainer that i have to wear to bed. and i get up and it traps all of the bacteria in my mouth so i have extremely bad breath when i wake up. then I eat breakfast and brush my teeth. but i still have bad breath. what should i do?
Brush then soak your retainer in mouthwash as well as brushing and flossing your teeth. You may need to have your teeth professionally cleaned as the oder may be caused from perio (gum condion) that needs attention. The dental hygienist can help with recommending rinses and tools to help keep the teeth and gums healthy which will help eliminate oders. Breath Rx is a very good mouth wash that can also help.
There are also digestional conditions that can cause bad breath. Address your dental concerns first and if the problem is not resolved see a madical doctor.
Hope this helps.

are you brushing the retainer and also the roof of your mouth thats where bad breath comes from just make sure you do both

Tell your dentist, but in the meantime, try some mouth washes. Maybe just a simple salt rinse (spit it out afterwards) might be the solution. Works for me.

Make sure you brush your biteplate and tongue with a mildly minty toothpaste. The tongue also stores a ton of bacteria which may add to bad breath. You may want to start using mouth wash after you brush your teeth. Keep breath mints around.
Don’t use very minty or strong smelling mouthwashes or mints, they are pretty powerful stuff and not always fun to smell on another person. Keep it mild and pleasant.
Also, if there is tooth decay or plaque or digestion problems, those also can cause bad breath.

I am 45 and after all these years I finally went to a dentist and starting having my teeth cleaned. The tech that administered the process gave me some advice about bad breath and she said it wasn’t just the teeth that make you have bad breath. It was the tongue. Not only brush your teeth at least twice a day but brush your tongue.
Your tongue has all kinds of bacteria on it that you don’t even realize it is there. If you stick your tongue out in front of a mirror you will see little tiny red dots and maybe a little white stuff on your tongue and those my friend are small bacteria.
Also floss at least once a day because brushing your teeth doesn’t always get all the food trapped in your mouth and when food is left in your mouth it causes bacteria to form.
Make sure you use some kind of rince (scope) after you brush your teeth as well.
