Does Chronic Tonsillitis can develop Heart Problem?

I’m experiencing it since I was a child (tonsilloliths or white soft stones) seen in my tonsils, sometimes it’s inflamed, sometimes not. I do experience palpitations especially at rest. (since childhood days)
and always feel very tired every time I wakes up (happened only this year) Tired as if I run..(like gasping for air to feel comfortable)

I’m taking antibiotics faithfully (7-10days) IF, only my tonsils are inflamed, and already developed fever..
Should I suspect for any possible heart problem like Rheumatic heart disease?
I’m 21 yrs.old now. Thanks for your Help!

Yes, that´s possible. In the worst case You probably get a pericarditis/myocarditis, these can end deadly! Sorry, I´m from Germany and only know the latin name of these sicknesses.

The constant exposure to strep may very well caused a chronic infection in your heart. You need a thorough cardiology exam by a board certified cardiologist. Only he will be able to determine what, if any, heart disease you may have.

    Hello,

Serious heart problems are a rare consequence of tonsillitis.

Certainly the symptoms you express are reminiscent of heart damage (and other things). During exercise, when valves of the heart should open and allow more cardiac output, damaged valves do not open as they should and oxygen deprivation of tissues occurs.

But there are cures, even in the cases of permanently damaged valves.

Rheumatic fever/ heart disease can be diagnosed, and any damage to the heart does not necessarily have to be permanent. So a consultation with your usual doctor and discussing the possibility of referral to a cardiologist will be your best line of action.

no =you should have youself checked for sleep apnea and if your tonsils have been bothering you all these years ,they should be removed
The palpitations can be caused from stress or angina or to much medications
