You mentioned you just moved into your apartment? Is there new carpet maybe in there? New carpet has some really strong smells that are toxic to you from breathing them in constantly. Your tonsils are swelling in order to catch the toxins before they get into your chest/lungs etc. So when they swell they are just doing their job. I would try to look at the source which is probably something in your apartment causing all these problems. A doctor will probably just address your symptoms by like giving you nasal spray and pain killers for your tonsils. I recommend airing out your apartment really really good for a few days if that's possible until the new smell goes away. If it's not possible to leave windows open all the time at the very least leave windows cracked, especially at night when you sleep.
