I have a tonsil stone, what do I do?
Hi there, welcome back. There's quite a bit to read here... don't forget to check out the recommended tonsil stones and bad breath products. Thanks for visiting!
I used to get them when I was younger but they stopped but a couple months ago they started coming about every 2 weeks. Two days ago I had a sore throat but the tonsil stone had been there already. I then started having cold symptoms. Now I just have a swollen tonsil with the tonsil stone behind it. I’ve already tried getting it out, but because its behind my tonsil its very complicated. Do I need to see a doctor?
Hi
you don’t need to see a doctor because you have a tonsil stone,
There are many ways of self treatment for Tonsillolith. Unfortunately a lot of them will make you gag.
1. A quick brushing with a toothbrush may remove surfaced tonsilloliths.
2. Another effective way is by pressing a finger or cotton bud against the bottom of the tonsil and pushing upward, therefore squeezing out stones.
You can see a doctor but they will more then like do a tonsillectomy which is when they remove the tonsils.
I have adding some links for you
Hope this helps

Yes, see a doctor.
That’s the best solution.

You can go see a doctor if it’s really bad, because it might be that your tonsils are trapping food particles that may lead to infection. its nothing too serious though, I get them all the time and they are merely an annoyance
